About our Hockey program:

The House League program is made of boys and girls ages 5 /6 year old (Tim-Bits) and 7/8 year old (house league) registering with Varsity View Community Club and participating in a league with other community clubs in APHA. This program is for new players starting hockey and allows them to develop their skills.  At the 7/8 year old age (Novice A) for house league there will be tryouts for players who choose to try and play at the “A” level and compete against other area association under the new APHA Winter Hawks banner, any child who attends the try out and doesn’t make Novice A will go back to their community club (i.e Varsity View) and play in the house league with that community club team.  Any 7/8 yr old girl can sign up to play Polar Bears and attend the APHA Polar Bears tryouts and be placed on an appropriate level team and compete against girls team from other area associations.

The Male and Female hockey programs can begin at 7 yr old (novice A level). This program begins the season with tryouts that evaluates each player’s ability against other players in their age category. The goal is to place players of similar ability at the same level. This program also combines players from the member community clubs within APHA to form APHA Winter Hawks teams and APHA Polar Bears girls only teams and compete against teams from other area associations.

Here are some pics from the 3 on 3 VVCC Tournament from Mar 17.  We had 4 teams of 7 2009/2010 born children and each team had 2 or 3 2008 yr old born children as their goalies/coaches.   After a close round robin tournament Falcons green played Falcons white in a tight battle for the trophy with Falcons green coming out on top!  All the players and parents had a great time and are looking forward to doing it again next year!  Huge Thanks to Kerry Ross & a lot of great parents and kids helping out, whether it be cleaning up, organizing, setting up, coaching, reffing, donating, timekeeping and cheering on

Female Midget A1 WINS City

2013-2014 City Champs lgFor the last 5 years the Varsity View Female Midget A1 team has gone to the city championships. This year is the fourth time the team has won (last year being the only blemish on their record).  Although the players are not the same ones who were on the original winning team, the results are the same. Dedication, team work, tears (not all from the coaches), outstanding goaltending and commitment from this special group came together again and the girls are this years City Champions. There are six girls graduating this year and as in past years they have become important members of our group and will be missed next season. We have a great core group for next year and anything is possible. (Coach Scott Clarke)
